PST Sport’s Sales Director, Kieran Donaghy pays tribute to former teammate as Kerry’s triple All-Ireland winner David Moran retires from Inter-County football bringing to an end an outstanding career.

PST Sport would like to wish Kerry great and long serving midfielder, David Moran the very best going forward after he called time on an illustrious career in the famous Green and Gold jersey. David made his league debut for Kerry against Donegal in 2008 and later that year made his Championship debut against Cork.

The Kerins O’Rahilly’s man was described as a “humble leader both on and off the field” in a statement from Kerry GAA on Monday confirming the news.

Over his exemplary career, David has lifted the Sam Maguire on three occasions. Those All-Ireland wins came in 2009, 2014 and most recently in 2022 when Kerry saw off the challenge of Galway and David proudly lifted the Sam Maguire on the Hogan steps with his son Eli in his arms. In addition to his All-Ireland successes, he claimed 10 Munster titles, four Allianz League titles and two McGrath Cups.

In a statement issued by by David;

“After a lot of thought, I have decided to retire from Inter-County football. It’s not a decision I have taken lightly. Playing with Kerry fulfilled all my boyhood dreams, however, with an aging body, a young family and a demanding work life I feel I can no longer give the commitment required to perform and compete at the top level.”

Kieran Donaghy said:

“David always showed his class every time he took to the field of play. The iconic socks up to the knees, booming kick passes, points sailing over the black spot and then of course there was his overall control of the air waves from Fitzgerald stadium to Croke park”

David has won 3 senior all Ireland medals in 3 different decades, 2009, 2014, 2022 . A remarkable stat especially when you consider there were a few potential career ending injuries along the road. To add to his story he also made 2 All star teams, the first in 2014 and the second in 2019.

18 years representing Kerry at minor, U21 and senior level shows his professionalism and dedication to representing himself, his family, his club and of course his county to the very best of his ability.”

Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA will soon see a major upgrade to its club facilities in the form of a new state-of-the-art all-weather pitch. Work on the much-anticipated 90m x 60m artificial grass surface is due to begin shortly, and it’s expected that the new pitch will be completed and ready for handover by early November.

A facility like this is such an invaluable asset for any club. As well as providing a consistent, safe and reliable playing surface, the much needed year-round facility will allow teams of all ages to participate, play and train all year regardless of weather. Not only that, the new world-class 3G pitch will replicate the bounce and performance of a well maintained natural grass pitch.

Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA has grown significantly over the past few years and this new facility will help the club cater for growing members across all age groups in a thriving local community.

Key elements of the upcoming project will involve all civils including the install of an enhanced drainage system, 2.4m fencing, 2.6m netting, foundations for future ball-wall, foundations for floodlights, and the installation of our 60mm Pride carpet over prefabricated shock pad.

Prior to works commencing we carried out a complete site survey to assess the ground underneath. This allows PST wo work together with our client to custom design a sub base and drainage system to accommodate the proposed new surfacing solution to deliver the most technologically advanced artificial turf pitch.

As projects go, jobs don’t get much closer to HQ than this one. PST Sport is due to commence works shortly constructing a 6,600 sq/m state-of-the-art artificial grass pitch for our neighbours, Tralee grassroots football club, St Brendan’s Park FC taking club facilities to the highest level.

A Thriving Club at the Heart of a Community

St Brendan’s Park FC was founded in 1971 and has been providing a sporting and social outlet for the greater Tralee area for over 50 years. As a club, all involved have worked incredibly hard to put a plan in place for the development of facilities and have worked tirelessly to provide football for all age groups.

Recent success has seen a significant growth in numbers across all sections of the club and in particular an increased interest in kids wanting to play football. St Brendan’s Park FC is striving to meet these growing demands by providing a soft, safe, weatherproof surface for all players to use, that will meet the club’s high-volume usage requirements year-round and allow the club to grow and flourish into the future. The addition of floodlights will allow for nighttime use and, as with all PST pitches, the new facility will act as a significant revenue generator for the club through pitch hire.

• Full groundworks and the installation of an enhanced drainage system
• 263m2 of concrete footpath
• 300m2 of gravel footpath
• 356m of 1.2m high spectator fencing
• 8m high ball stop netting behind both goals

SUPERB 50

SUPERB 50 is an exceptionally durable 17,000 dtex diamond shape yarn. Its smooth shape means that it is soft to touch and the fact it is manufactured using the advanced C8 polymer, a purer polymer, makes it extremely resilient. Due to the ability of the fibre to “stand up”, ball roll is as close to a high-quality natural turf pitch as possible, while the ease with which the yarn allows players to twist and turn, takes football on artificial grass to a new level.

When the students are off-site for the summer break this year it will be all systems go at Pobalscoil Na Trionóide in Youghal. Work is due to commence shortly on the construction of a state-of-the-art 5,000 sq/m floodlit artificial turf pitch. This new world-class facility will prove to be of huge benefit for the school, and for the wider community of Youghal for evening use and availability for weekend sports and training sessions.

Pobalscoil Na Trionóide opened its doors in 2006, after the decision had been made to bring the three schools in Youghal. Since then, the number of pupils at the school has grown rapidly. The new artificial grass sports surface will give all-year-round access to training for over 800 pupils. These kinds of sports facilities can and will make a real difference to the amount of time children get to play and train outdoors.

PST Sport will be on-site from Monday June 20th and weather permitting, the project is expected to take 10-12 weeks to complete. The project will include full groundworks plus the installation of an enhanced drainage system, perimeter kerbing, fencing, netting and the installation of lighting. The surface will be our Pride 50 artificial turf laid onto a preformed shockpad with sand and a performance layer of SBR.

Sport is an integral part of children’s education and St Tiernan’s Community School have a long tradition of involvement in sports. Investing in top class sports facilities is an investment in children’s health. Fundamentally, all-weather pitches offer so much to schools and have become invaluable, especially in the wet winter months.

PST Sport is delighted to have been appointed as the design and build company for the development of a full-size 6,100 sq/m FIFA Approved artificial grass pitch at St Tiernan’s Community School in Ballinteer for principal contractors, BAM Ireland.

This top of the range recreational space will be a huge boost for everyone at the school and indeed, the wider community. Excavation works are expected to start in the coming weeks and weather permitting, the project is expected to take 8-10 weeks to complete.

The project will include all sub base works and drainage installation. We designed the sub base and drainage system to accommodate the new surfacing solution to deliver the most technologically advanced artificial turf pitch. Ancillary works will include perimeter kerbing, 2.4m high fencing and 3.6m high ball stop netting.

SUPERB 50, our premier artificial product will then be laid onto a preformed shockpad with sand and a performance layer of SBR. Meeting FIFA Standards, SUPERB 50 is an advanced yarn that excels partly due to the C8 polymer used during the manufacturing process and the yarn’s advanced diamond shape makes it strong from every side. Due to the ability of the fibre to “stand up”, ball roll is as close to a high-quality natural turf pitch as possible, whilst the ease with which the yarn allows players to twist and turn, takes football on artificial grass to a new level.

Once complete, the new state-of-the-art surface will be independently tested to FIFA requirements.

PST Sport is delighted to have been appointed as the main contractor to construct a new FIFA Quality Pro synthetic turf pitch for Hadley FC at their home grounds in Brickfield Lane. The club who play in the Southern League Division One Central is the oldest football club playing in Barnet (founded in 1882).

‘Providing football for all’ lies at the heart of the club’s ethos and this new sporting development further underpins the club’s commitment to the local community. Improving club facilities and investing in a state-of-the-art artificial grass pitch is vital to sustain and withstand the growing demands of this progressive football club. The new pitch will also be a significant revenue driver for years to come, creating a year-round revenue stream through hiring the pitch out to local third-parties.

Works are due to commence on Monday, June 13th and expected to take 9 weeks to complete. Once finished the new surface will be independently tested to FIFA Quality Pro standards.

After years of hard work, Highview Athletic FC’s dream of a world-class synthetic turf pitch is about to become a reality. Works got underway today converting the existing natural grass pitch at the club’s home grounds in Harristown, Co. Kilkenny to a full-size FIFA Approved artificial grass pitch.

Highview Athletic FC continues to grow in numbers each year and the need for a state-of-the-art 3G pitch is badly needed. Recent years have seen a significant increase in playing numbers across all sections of the club.

Given the growth in numbers playing football, Highview Athletic FC’s main goal is to develop high quality facilities for all its members and the community. By designing and constructing the facility to FIFA standards the club can then use the pitch for matches and training, in the evenings and at weekends and also make it available to other clubs in the community.

The project which will take approximately 12 weeks to complete will include full groundworks plus the installation of an enhanced drainage system, perimeter fencing, ball stop netting, spectator railing, lighting and a gravel footpath/community walkway with provisions for lighting which will be accessible at all times and open to the public.

The Chosen Surface

Highview Athletic have opted for our SUPERB 50 artificial turf, a real heavy weight premier football surface, on a high-density performance shock pad, sat atop a complete drainage system and stone base.

Our SUPERB 50 synthetic turf system on pad offers superior play characteristics providing the ultimate football experience. The unique diamond shape of the Superb yarn ensures the blades stay standing upright, giving a ball roll that is as close to a high-quality natural turf pitch as possible.

SUPERB is manufactured using the C8 polymer, the market leading yarn in artificial and sports grass worldwide. C8 is a purer polymer making the fibres extremely soft to touch yet incredibly durable and exceptionally resilient.

The worldwide trend of converting former landfills to public parks has in recent years gained ground in Ireland. One such project is Kerdiffstown Landfill Remediation Project, transforming the former landfill site at Naas, Co. Kildare to provide a multi-use public park which will include playing pitches, a playground and other recreational amenities.

PST Sport is delighted to have been chosen to install 29,000 sq/m of artificial grass for three sports pitches for main contractor, Wills Bros Ltd.

This is one of our biggest installation projects to date and involves two full-size GAA pitches and one training pitch. 29,000 sq/m of our Pride 60 artificial grass over performance pad, with pitches subsequently tested and approved to FIFA Quality, World Rugby and GAA.

Pitch A
3,700 sq/m training pitch with 60mm artificial grass carpet laid over 20mm shock pad.

Pitch B
12,600 sq/m pitch incorporating lines for GAA, soccer and rugby. 60mm Pride artificial grass on performance pad. We will also supply and install goal posts for GAA, rugby and soccer.

The Surface

The chosen surfacing solution for all three pitches is our Pride 60 over shock pad. Pride 60 artificial grass is designed to be installed onto a level, compacted and free draining base, ideally with a shock pad underneath.

Pride 60 is a heavy weight durable synthetic grass made of high-end 100% PE monofilament fibers, 14,000 dtex, 7 fibres per tuft with a diamond shape yarn. This combination provides optimal performance characteristics giving a great overall player experience. The shape of the Pride fibres help to control ball speed better than normal fibres offering incomparable resilience and softness to touch for the ultimate sports experience.

Flint Town United FC will boast a brand new 3G pitch at Essity Stadium just in time for the new season. Once complete, the state-of-the-art artificial grass facility will be a hugely beneficial asset to the town of Flint and its wider community, now and for future generations.

Earlier this month Flint Town United unveiled plans to overhaul its stadium facility, replacing the existing natural grass field with a 7,800 sq/m artificial grass surface. Works on the much-anticipated project will commence next week and will include installing a new drainage system, stone subbase and dynamic stone layer.

Ambitious Plans for Greater Success

With Welsh footballing legend, Ian Rush as club president, the development marks a huge step forward for the The Silkmen. The club have ambitious plans and aim to ensure that investment in facilities at Essity Stadium mirror their plans for progress on the field. The new pitch will allow much greater use of the facility benefiting teams at all levels, particularly the club’s youth teams. Flint Town United’s successful Academy will also take advantage from having such a high-quality playing surface for its training and match facilities.

Furthermore, it will be available to hire for local clubs as a way to increase revenue for the club by offering local grass-roots teams the opportunity to play and train on the pitch.
