PROCUREMENT & STOCK CONTROL MANAGER

Role Overview

The Procurement & Stock Control Manager will manage all procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better buying opportunities, manage the ongoing relationships with our portfolio of suppliers and ensure we get value for money from all supplier contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement activities.
  • Perform all material procurement activities once contracts are secured.
  • Develop key relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to deliver products and services to the highest standards.
  • Negotiate pricing contracts with suppliers on best possible terms to achieve overall financial aims of the company.
  • Issue purchase orders for procurement and expedition of materials and equipment for jobs.
  • Develop and implement new purchasing strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification.
  • Create scopes of work around procurement and stock control.
  • Improve order requisition system from site.
  • Track shipments and address and communicate any delays to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the management team by providing management information regarding procurement and stock control activities.
  • Stock inventory control management.

Role Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans.
  • Exceptionally organised with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with colleagues, suppliers and clients.

EXPERIENCED QUANTITY SURVEYOR/ESTIMATOR

Role Overview

The Quantity Surveyor/Estimator will be responsible for producing detailed and competitive tenders within the allocated deadline. Other responsibilities include the measurement of tender drawings, reviewing specifications and issuing RFIs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in all estimating functions, in addition to a strong commercial awareness and the ability to deal with tenders from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and negotiation of tender submissions.
  • Measuring and Quantity Take-Off from drawings.
  • Producing Bills of Quantities.
  • Sourcing pre-project information.
  • Visit site and record information about access, ground conditions, existing services etc.
  • Analysing sub-contractor quotations and checking inclusions and exclusions.
  • Produce Tender Reports.
  • Ensure tenders are delivered to the appropriate place on time.
  • Attend pre and post tender interviews, client meetings etc.
  • Liaising and reporting to Senior Management in relation to on-going project submissions.
  • Attend regular pipeline meetings to review current tender submission requirements and communicate effectively to keep management up-to-date on project submission status whilst also tracking and resolving issues.
  • Keep abreast of various changes in industry and competitive environment in which the company operates.
  • Maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations.

Role Requirements

  • Qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying essential.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in the construction industry – experience in Groundworks and Utilities would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of construction methods, specifications and the ability to read, understand and measure drawings.
  • Display high capability of extracting quantities from drawings and ensure that accurate pricing is delivered within specified time frames.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • A strong command of the English language and good written and oral communication skills.

HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER

Role Overview

The Health & Safety Officer will work with a multi-skilled workforce to support the embedding of Quality, Health & Safety, Policy, Procedures and Management systems and practices within PST Sport.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and Implement the company’s quality health & safety, policy, procedures and management system.
  • Advising and assisting site management in drafting and communicating RAMS, SSWPs and Tool Box Talks.
  • Preparation of both preliminary and construction stage safety and health plans for projects.
  • Provide advice, guidance and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, safety representatives and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).
  • Delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or sub-contractors working on site & at head office.
  • Conduct regular inspections and site audits, reporting findings to senior management. Strict follow-up is required to ensure that actions are dealt with immediately.
  • Ensure that all accidents are reported, recorded and investigated and that suitable notification is given to the Directors, Health & Safety Authority and Insurers as required.
  • Compile relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File and preparing for handover to the client at the end of the project.
  • Promote the company mission of being a healthy and incident and injury free work environment.
  • Ensure that all employees have appropriate training, information, and knowledge to ensure that their work activities are carried out in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for facilitating and conducting on-going safety training for all employees in the business, and ensuring that new employees (including agency personnel) receive timely inductions prior to commencing their role.
  • Training records for all employees to be maintained in an appropriate systematic format, and in format that is consistent across all sites.
  • Ensure that all activities across the business have robust and up-to-date risk assessments.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and training to ensure that all risks are appropriately managed.
  • Continuously monitor, evaluate and review Health & Safety policy and practice, and make recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required.
  • Conduct accident/incident investigations to identify root cause analysis and implement control measures to prevent re-occurrences.
  • Ensure Project Managers and Supervisors are actively engaged in the audit process and all Health and Safety systems.
  • Provide site personnel with the appropriate training and systems to ensure that they can adequately monitor this. Conduct regular programme of audits to evaluate compliance with same.
  • Ensure all internal and external health and safety reporting requirements are complied with.
  • Operate Traffic Management Systems for projects.
  • Work with the HAS etc. and all relevant public bodies who visit the sites to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and bodies.

Role Requirements

  • Hold a relevant H&S Qualification.
  • 2 years’ or more H&S experience working on construction sites in Ireland.
  • ISO Management Systems experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of ROI legislation.
  • Full Clean Driving licence.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Be flexible and prepared to work in any required areas.
