From Landfill to 29,000 sq/m State-of-the-Art Sports Surfaces

Kerdiffstown Landfill Remediation Project

The worldwide trend of converting former landfills to public parks has in recent years gained ground in Ireland. One such project is Kerdiffstown Landfill Remediation Project, transforming the former landfill site at Naas, Co. Kildare to provide a multi-use public park which will include playing pitches, a playground and other recreational amenities.

PST Sport is delighted to have been chosen to install 29,000 sq/m of artificial grass for three sports pitches for main contractor, Wills Bros Ltd.

This is one of our biggest installation projects to date and involves two full-size GAA pitches and one training pitch. 29,000 sq/m of our Pride 60 artificial grass over performance pad, with pitches subsequently tested and approved to FIFA Quality, World Rugby and GAA.

12,600 sq/m pitch incorporating lines for GAA, soccer and rugby. 60mm Pride artificial grass on performance pad. We will also supply and install goal posts for GAA, rugby and soccer.

Like Pitch B, 12,600 sq/m artificial grass pitch with 60mm carpet and shock pad, marked for GAA, soccer and rugby. Goals also supplied.

The Surface

The chosen surfacing solution for all three pitches is our Pride 60 over shock pad. Pride 60 artificial grass is designed to be installed onto a level, compacted and free draining base, ideally with a shock pad underneath.

Pride 60 is a heavy weight durable synthetic grass made of high-end 100% PE monofilament fibers, 14,000 dtex, 7 fibres per tuft with a diamond shape yarn. This combination provides optimal performance characteristics giving a great overall player experience. The shape of the Pride fibres help to control ball speed better than normal fibres offering incomparable resilience and softness to touch for the ultimate sports experience.
