World-Class Synthetic Turf Stadium Pitch Coming to Flint Town United

Flint Town United FC will boast a brand new 3G pitch at Essity Stadium just in time for the new season. Once complete, the state-of-the-art artificial grass facility will be a hugely beneficial asset to the town of Flint and its wider community, now and for future generations.

Earlier this month Flint Town United unveiled plans to overhaul its stadium facility, replacing the existing natural grass field with a 7,800 sq/m artificial grass surface. Works on the much-anticipated project will commence next week and will include installing a new drainage system, stone subbase and dynamic stone layer.

Ambitious Plans for Greater Success

With Welsh footballing legend, Ian Rush as club president, the development marks a huge step forward for the The Silkmen. The club have ambitious plans and aim to ensure that investment in facilities at Essity Stadium mirror their plans for progress on the field. The new pitch will allow much greater use of the facility benefiting teams at all levels, particularly the club’s youth teams. Flint Town United’s successful Academy will also take advantage from having such a high-quality playing surface for its training and match facilities.

Furthermore, it will be available to hire for local clubs as a way to increase revenue for the club by offering local grass-roots teams the opportunity to play and train on the pitch.

Superb 45 – Innovative Sports Turf Technology

The new pitch will benefit from a state-of-the-art Superb 45 surface, a heavy weight premier football surface offering superior playing characteristics, installed onto a performance pad.

The unique diamond shape of the Superb yarn ensures the blades stay standing upright, giving a ball roll that is as close to a high-quality natural turf pitch as possible.

Superb is manufactured using the C8 polymer, the market leading yarn in artificial and sports grass worldwide. C8 is a purer polymer making the fibres extremely soft to touch yet incredibly durable and exceptionally resilient.
