Celebrating Success at Humberston Academy, Grimsby!

This outstanding academy, known for its exceptional sports facilities in Northeast Lincolnshire, now boasts a state-of-the-art FIFA Quality 106m x 70m artificial grass pitch.

Project Scope

Key project elements included full groundworks and drainage, plus the installation of a dynamic stone base, perimeter kerbing, various fencing types: 52.5m of 1.2m high spectator fencing, 33m of 2.0m high fencing, and 382m of 4.5m high fencing. Additional features encompassed 450m of recycled trek boards, sports netting, 6 no. 15m floodlights, and the installation of our TriPlex 45 artificial turf over preformed shock pad.

Dynamic Pitch Base Installed at Humberston Academy

The pitch features a dynamic base, made with an unbound stone foundation to dissipate energy, mimicking the feel of natural turf. Its customised depth and excellent drainage make it ideal for football and rugby systems. The base is designed to be low-maintenance and long-lasting, offering a lifespan of over 40 years with minimal upkeep.

The Artificial Grass Surface

The surface, TriPlex 45, load over shock pad, consists of three different shaped yarns, each with its own specific purpose. One for durability, one for softness and one for resilience. This unique product combines these three attributes to create a truly cutting-edge playing surface.
