Summer 2024 Pitch Projects: A Season of Exciting Transformations

It has been an exceptionally busy summer at PST Sport, as we delivered state-of-the-art sports facilities to clubs, schools, and communities across Ireland and the UK. The summer months offer an ideal window to upgrade sports surfaces, ensuring players at all levels can enjoy world-class pitches year-round.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the projects we’ve been proud to complete this summer.

Nenagh Ormond RFC, Co. Tipperary

This summer, PST Sport was delighted to work with Nenagh Ormond RFC on the installation of a 9,000 sq/m artificial grass pitch, transforming their existing grass field into a cutting-edge sports surface. In addition, we delivered a 50m x 40m junior training area, making the club’s new facility suitable for players of all ages and levels.

Nenagh Ormond RFC places a strong emphasis on player development, particularly for their youth teams. With their new all-weather surface, the club can maximise their training potential, rain or shine, nurturing young talent while maintaining a high standard for their senior squads.

Bedford Town FC, Bedfordshire, England

Another highlight from our summer was the transformation of Bedford Town FC’s playing surface. We installed a 7,800 sq/m FIFA Quality Pro artificial turf pitch, replacing the existing grass field. The new pitch, featuring the high-performance Triplex 45 surface, is laid over a preformed shockpad to ensure superior playability, resilience, and player safety.

The project also included extensive groundworks such as drainage installation, perimeter kerbing, spectator fencing, and a 2-meter-wide tarmac footpath, greatly enhancing accessibility for both players and spectators. This new facility sets Bedford Town FC up for long-term success and creates an improved match-day experience for fans.

Scoil Mhuire, Killorglin, Co. Kerry

In Co. Kerry, PST Sport delivered a 2,000 sq/m artificial grass pitch and jogging track for Scoil Mhuire, Killorglin. The project scope included full groundworks, fencing, and the installation of shockpad and carpet. This new multi-functional sports facility will serve both the school and the local community, providing a top-tier surface for a variety of sports activities.

With future floodlight foundations already in place, this facility is built to grow with the school, ensuring it meets the needs of students for years to come.

Larkhall Athletic FC, Securitas Stadium, Bath, England

We were proud to deliver a complete turnkey solution for a FIFA Quality Pro artificial grass pitch at Larkhall Athletic FC. The transformative project included the installation of a new drainage system, stone subbase, and dynamic stone layer. Despite the challenging site access, our team successfully navigated the complexities to install a world-class facility that will enhance the club’s capabilities and community engagement.

With superior playing characteristics, this pitch promises to support Larkhall Athletic FC’s future success and foster talent development across all age groups.

Colemanstown United FC, Co. Galway

Colemanstown United FC saw a huge surge in player numbers and needed a durable, weather-resistant surface to support year-round training and matches. PST Sport delivered a full-size FIFA Quality artificial grass pitch designed to meet the demands of heavy usage.

This new surface will allow Colemanstown United FC to continue its growth, providing a top-level facility for players of all ages and abilities.

The Deanes School, Essex, England

We completed a FIFA Quality Approved artificial turf pitch at The Deanes School in Essex. Supported by the Football Foundation, this facility is more than just a sports pitch; it serves as a community hub for local football development. The robust design ensures it can withstand heavy use while maintaining top performance for students and community members alike.

Carriglea NS, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford

PST Sport delivered a 540 sq/m artificial grass pitch for Carriglea National School in Dungarvan. The new facility provides students with an outstanding all-weather space for sports and outdoor activities, ensuring they have a safe, reliable surface to enjoy year-round.

Moreland Primary School, London

We were pleased to work with Moreland Primary School in London to deliver a 900 sq/m artificial grass pitch. The project included drainage improvements, timber edging, ball stop netting, and roof netting, creating a versatile, durable sports facility for the school’s students.

The chosen surface, our Pride 50 artificial turf, is designed to handle high usage, making it the perfect choice for the school’s sports activities.

XVAcademy Galway

PST Sport completed an indoor artificial grass pitch at XVAcademy in Galway, ready for winter training sessions at their state-of-the-art facility. This pitch is designed to meet the demands of high-intensity training, ensuring that players can develop their skills in an optimal environment.

Kinawley GAA, Co. Fermanagh

At Kinawley GAA in Co. Fermanagh, we completed a 60m x 40m artificial grass pitch, delivering a full turnkey solution that included groundworks, drainage, a dynamic stone base, sports fencing, netting, and floodlights. This new facility is not just for the club but a valuable resource for the entire community, providing a durable, all-weather surface that will stand the test of time.

Dunhill GAA, Dublin

We delivered a 46m x 26m artificial grass training pitch for Dunhill GAA in Dublin, providing a complete turnkey solution that included groundworks, drainage, fencing, and netting. The new Pride 60 surface, installed over a shockpad, offers the perfect balance of durability and playability, allowing year-round training opportunities.

Rock Celtic FC, Dundalk, Co. Louth

We completed a pitch resurfacing project for Rock Celtic FC in Dundalk, where the existing surface had exceeded its lifespan. After removing and disposing of the old surface, we installed a new Pride 50 artificial grass surface over a shockpad, creating a world-class playing surface for the club’s growing membership.

Elba Sports Complex, Swansea, Wales

PST Sport undertook the renovation of a 5,600 sq/m hockey pitch at the Elba Sports Complex in Swansea. The project involved the removal and safe disposal of the existing surface and shockpad, followed by the installation of a new in-situ shockpad and FastPro 18 synthetic surface. This sand-dressed hockey surface delivers exceptional performance and a fast, consistent playing experience for players of all levels.

Ashford Rovers AFC, Co. Wicklow

In Ashford, Co. Wicklow, we resurfaced a 1,700 sq/m pitch for Ashford Rovers AFC, along with constructing a 25 sq/m recess area. The chosen surface, Pride 50, is designed to stand up to heavy usage, making it ideal for the club’s busy schedule of matches and training sessions.

Faughs GAA, Dublin

We completed two artificial grass pitch resurfacing projects for Faughs GAA in Dublin. The first was an 860 sq/m pitch, and the second was a 300 sq/m ball wall area. Both were resurfaced with Pride 60 artificial grass, a high-performance surface that enhances sports performance and withstands years of use.
